Music Therapy Grant: Sound System for Pet Central Helps (March 2019)

Music can be a powerful healing tool and comfort during times of stress and uncertainty. Twice Upon A String’s latest music therapy grant is for a very special group, dogs and cats awaiting their furever home. In the last week of March, we delivered a brand new 8 speaker sound system to Pet Central Helps, who is finishing construction on their new 7500 sq ft facility. While they utilize foster families for dogs and cats whenever possible, there are many animals that are either awaiting a foster/ forever home, are ill, or cannot be placed due to behavioral issues the organization is working on.

Another wonderful organization that will play a role is The Rescue Animal MP3 Project. They provide iPods full of relaxing music created specifically for animals to non-profit rescues and animal shelters. Please check out the amazing calming effects of music for animals in shelters in this VIDEO! I hope to share updates about how the animals at Pet Central Helps respond to the music in our local facility.
